Broken Bow City Pound/Dog Tags

Dog Tags

Every dog over the age of 6 months that lives within the Broken Bow City Limits must have a city dog tag. Tags can be purchased at the Broken Bow Police Department. You must bring proof of rabies shots and $5.00 to purchase a tag. The dog tags renew every year on May 1st.

Pound Information

Q: What should I do if my dog is lost?A: Report it to the Police Department, 308-872-6424. If you see a stray dog please call 308-872-6424 and report it. Only dogs found within the Broken Bow City limits can be held in the City Pound.
FACTS ABOUT THE CITY POUND The Broken Bow City Pound houses stray dogs found within the city limits. Police Officers care for the dogs, providing food, water and shelter. There are 4 pens and each has a "doggie door" so the dogs can go in and out at their leisure. Each pen has it's own run. If your dog is missing, call 872-6424 to report it. If your dog is in the pound, you can claim it at the Police Department, 116 S 11th Ave. The pound fee is $25. Please understand that you may also be cited for Dog at Large, which involves a $35 fine the first time and a $45 fine the second time. If you would like to offer your support to the pound, contributions can be made to Broken Bow Animal Shelter, 116 S 11th Ave, Broken Bow, NE 68822.

Leash Laws

Any dog that is not on your personal property must have a leash and be controlled by the owner, within the City Limits of Broken Bow.
